Really??

I know I am supposed to be back...but that is life...
Sometimes things in my real life get in the way of blogging...that is why this is my hobby/passion/escape, not my real life job unfortunately.

But just because this is not my job, it does not mean that I am in any way unethical or receiving "blogola" for doing reviews on certain products. Yes, I have received some products and have reviewed them here. And I am grateful for that. If I had not, then I might have missed out on some great products that I would have passed by normally...
And yes, there have been some products that I disliked and have posted about that as well. Have I ever received trips, money, or major swag to post a review?? NO.

You may notice that the Total Beauty Badge is no longer appearing on my blog. I REFUSE to represent a company that builds itself up on the backs of bloggers, and then turns around and throws those same bloggers under the bus so they can increase their own ad revenue. REFUSE.

And posting a little YouTube video claiming it was a "misunderstanding" is not going to cut it. You know who you are and what you did...the least you could do is own it...

Thank you.

I am back! Sort of...

I know, I know. It has been a long time. And yes, believe it or not, I do miss blogging. It has been so easy to just go on Twitter to communicate with all of you, but I must get back to blogging on a somewhat regular schedule.

Thank you to everyone for all of your support while I was gone...you know who you are!

It has been a very strange and eventful couple of months....

My beloved Bubba is now in kitty heaven. I miss her so much. She was my best friend and companion for over 10 years. She has been by my side for many of the milestones in my life and always loved me unconditionally, a true friend. After an all too short battle with cancer, I finally did the kindest thing I could for her, and let her go in peace.

To help fill the void, and to keep my other cat Boo Boo company, we adopted another kitty, Bella. While Bella looks a lot like Bubba, she has a much more outrageous personality. Her antics keep me laughing and helps me not to mope.... Plus, she cuddles with Boo Boo, whether he wants to or not! It is a lot of work, but well worth it!

My husband will also be back from working out of state. Believe it or not, he has been gone now for 4 months! To keep busy, I have painted every room in the house and rearranged all the furniture...poor guy, he isn't going to even recognize his home anymore...that will teach him to leave me alone, LOL!

And last, but not least (for now) my latest purchase from the super talented Yumeko.

A beautiful new netbook cover!!! I absolutely love the fabric she used! Beautiful chandeliers and black cats...my fave, lol! If you are interested in seeing what other goodies she creates, please go here: http://tezaiku.blogspot.com/.

On a final note for now.... I have to say that I am so lucky to have met so many great ladies through blogging and Twitter. All of your words of wisdom and support have helped me get through these last couple of months and I cannot even begin to express my gratitude. I truly consider all of you friends in the truest meaning of the word.

Stay tuned for my future posts!

Taking a break

Unfortunately, there are some things going on in my personal life that I am currently dealing with, so I will be taking a hiatus from blogging. You can still catch me on Twitter or email me at: diva4less@gmail.com.

Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive during this difficult time in my life. I hope to be back to blogging soon.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart...

“This award is bestowed upon a fellow blogger whose blog’s content or design is, in the giver’s opinion, brilliant."

The most lovely and talented fellow bloggers, Niya and Tammy W have so graciously bestowed this lovely award to me....thank you so much!!

When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to the said person so everyone knows she/he is real. Choose a minimum of seven (7) blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have seven friends. Show the seven random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with Honest Weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten (10) honest things about yourself. Then pass it on!

10 Honest things about me:

1.) I am 36 years old, but have only recently started feeling my true age. It creeps out at weird times like trying to recover from a late night out drinking, takes longer to recover, lol! So strange...

2.) I have never been at one job for more than 3 years until now. I have been at my current job for 5 years!! Usually I burn out or get bored because it is no longer a challenge...but I love my job, no matter how much I bitch about it.
3.) I am Korean, but my parents are white, I was adopted. One of my sisters is Korean also, and the youngest is from Guatemala. We are a very multi-cultural family, which is why I am so open minded about race, ethnicity, religion and other things.
4.) I used to be a size 2-4, but now I am a size 10-12. I used to be totally bummed out about it, but to be honest, this is the most comfortable I have ever felt in my skin... I guess I am more focused on more important things, lol. I would like to be a size 8 however, to be healthier.
5.) I love the fact that my husband stand up to me and challenges me. He loves all of me, including the crusty parts...(that is a direct quote...crusty parts, lol).

6.) I have a thing for high heels, 3 inches or higher....maybe because I am short...only 5'3".

7.) I will try almost anything once...if I don't like it, I don't have to do/eat/have it again. But what if I love it? I don't want to miss out.

8.) I consider myself very sociall, but I need my alone time. I think that is because I come from a family of 5 kids and had to share a room with both my sisters....making up for lost time maybe??
9.) I honestly never thought I would be so settled down, I always thought I would move place to place, from guy to guy. It is amazing to me that I have found my "partner in crime" and that he is my husband!!!

10.) I traveled more between the ages of 20-25 than any time since!! I have lived in 3 cities in Florida, Long Island NY, outside Chicago, San Diego, and Japan. I have traveled to Korea, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, and the Bahamas...
Hmmm, who can I award this to?

I got a Netbook!!!

OK, next week I will be out of town attending insurance school for work. I don't have a (gasp) laptop, so the thought of being without a computer other than my BlackBerry made me really anxious....

So today I needed to go to Best Buy and pick up some CD's...aaand just happened to wander over to the conputer section. I saw 3 Netbooks, and after carefully comparing them, immediately called the hubby, lol.

After much discussion, I decided to go with the HP Mini. It has a solid state hardrive, a 10.2" size screen and a decent sized keyboard. I have never had a laptop, so getting used to the mousepad is going to take me a little while...but that's ok. It was on sale for about $350...so not too bad. I am sure that I might have been able to get a better price if I would have researched it, but I wanted to play around with it before I left on Sunday so...

Pros:

Decent sized screen: There were a few other netbooks that were less money, but their screen and keyboard were TINY...

Basic Functions: I wanted it for websurfing, blogging, twittering, creating documents and of course, WiFi!

Cons:

Does not have a CD/DVR drive... not too concerned as everything can pretty much be put on a zip drive including pics.

Hard Drive space: It's pretty limited, but that is the usual with these small netbooks. My drive space is 16GB. Some come with larger drives, but they wont be solid state, which tend to work more efficiently and load quicker...from what I understand.

Overall, so far so good. Oh, it also has a webcam! Which I will NOT be using, cause I am way too shy for all of that. So I guess that feature is wasted.

I did this post on the netbook...the pics I loaded via USB, so I guess it is perfect for blogging. Which is what my hubby said, so I guess he is right. Darn it!

Here are some pics:

Almost closed...didn't take the plastic sheet off the top yet. But I took it next to my BB Pearl so you can kinda judge the size.

And here it is opened so you can see the size of the screen and keyboard.

Not too bad, so now I can still blog and stuff while I am gone, also it is nice to be doing this post in the living room in front of the big tv, lol! So nice to finally be taking advantage of modern technology!!!
